Our Patch tour and barbecue will take place on Saturday Aug. 10 th. The tour will start at Jeff Reids (852 Maple St., Waterville) at 3:30 pm. From there everyone will go to Fred Ansems’, Gerard Ansems’, and Ron Muis on Lakewood Road in Steam Mill. The barbecue will be at Ron Muis’ starting at around 6:00 pm.
Sorry for the short notice but the plan is to have the next meeting of the Annapolis Valley Giant Vegetable Growers at the Waterville Fire Hall on Sunday, July 21 at 7 pm.
The AVGVG Monthly Meeting will be held this Sunday, May 5th at 7:00 pm at the Waterville Fire Hall, Old County Road. The annual plant exchange will take place. Topic for discussion will be: How to maintain temperature in cold frame and adding amendments.
Below pictured is Gerard Ansems who recently received his GPC award for growing the 3rd largest Bushel Gourd in the world in 2018. His bushel gourd weighed in at 335 lbs.
