Glad Gardens Weigh-Off 2023

The Glad Gardens Weigh Off is scheduled for the weekend of September 29 and 30th 2023.

We will be open to receive entries Friday from 6-8pm and Saturday from 8am-10am at Glad Gardens. All entries need to be on site Saturday morning no later than10am. The weigh off will begin at 10am Saturday morning.

Entry forms are are available below and can be downloaded and filled out to speed up the registration process.

Awards will be presented starting at 1:30pm or 30 minutes after weighing the last of the vegetables should the event take longer.

The entry fee remains the same this year at $20.

The prize payout remains the same;

1st Pumpkin –$500 GPC plaque
2nd Pumpkin–$300 GPC ribbon
3rd Pumpkin–$150 GPC ribbon
4th Pumpkin–$75 GPC ribbon
5th-10th Pumpkin–$50 GPC ribbon

1st Squash–$300 GPC plaque
2nd Squash–$200
3rd Squash–$100
4th Squash–$75
5th Squash–$50

AVGVG Glad Gardens WeighOff Information 2021

Hello everyone. Here is an update on this years weigh off.

The weigh off will be a two day event at Glad Gardens. Glad Gardens is located at Hwy #1 West Waterville, NS. The weigh off will take place on Friday September 24 2021 and Saturday September 25 2021.

Open registration will take place Friday afternoon from 3pm until 5pm and Saturday morning from 9am until 12pm (Noon).

The entry fee is $20.00.

New and renewal memberships will be accepted. The fee is $20.00 (single or family)

GPC data entry forms will be required for each vegetable being entered. (eg 3 entries require 3 forms)

Please print and fill out the forms below and bring them to open registration. Payment information can be found on the registration forms.

Annual AVGVG Fundraising Auction

Fred Ansems  is holding our annual AVGVG  seed auction to raise funds for the club.

The auction will begin at  7:00pm Eastern time, Monday January 25 2021 and finishes  Monday February 1 2021 at 7:00 pm Eastern time.

On the left-hand menu you will find message boards. Scroll down to seed auctions/raffles. Click on  A.V.G.V.G.  Auction 2021 Starts Monday Jan 25 2021   posted by  Fred Ansems.

Here you will find the details of the auction. Bidding will be available all week. There are 43 Lots of seeds .

Successful bidders will be notified after the auction closes.

Payment is by Paypal, cheque, money order to  Fred Ansems. You will need to register to bid.

AVGVG 2020 Weigh-Off

REGISTER NOW: AVGVG Weighoff, pre-registration information during Covid-19

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic sweeping the world and after much discussion; a vote was held and it was decided that we would have a GPC sanctioned weigh off. Where this is a GPC sanctioned event; anyone can come and weigh a pumpkin, or any of the 8 different categories under GPC rules. We will also be weighing the seed of the year for 2020; Zucchini.

The venue for the event is Glad Gardens but with a back-up plan to have it at the Ansems Farm if Covid-19 restrictions make the first choice not possible

We will be requiring all entries to preregistered. The cost for all entries is $20.00. The entry fee can be paid at the site by cash, or ChequePayments can be made online using Paypal  fredansems@live.ca

Please note the preregistration date for the 2020 AVGVG weigh off is September 4, 2020. All entries must be registered by this date. Please use the forms below
